Pygmies Marginalised in Rwanda

I am sharing a short documentary video

The clan of pygmies in Rwanda called Abatwa were considered great hunters, potters, dancers and singers in the history of Rwanda but it is said that when the colony came the Pygmies were not recognized as a tribe. While others were taken into schools, the pygmies were considered bushmen and incapable of learning. But those pygmies are left alone by the rest of the society.

Cultural Background:
Similar to the Native Americans in the US or the Aborigines in Australia, Rwanda’s native people now live in close nit communities and face many challenges as the country around them continues to develop.

Experiment – How You See Yourself

I stumbeled on this video by Dove and would like to share it with you. The video  shows  how we view ourselves compared to how others see us.

An ex forensic artist from police department met a series of women and asked each to describe the way they look.

He didnt see them before, nor he did not meet them during their introduction. He drove sketches just by listening their description.

Forensic artist asked women to describe themselves about following:facial structure, hair length, their most prominent features. He then sketched each participant from their self-description.

Each woman was asked before the study to get to know one of the other participants. The forensic artist then prompted each woman to describe the other’s face.

At the end of the video, the artist reveals two sketches — one from the participant itself, one from their partner. The differences are remarkable.

How Would You Really Enjoy Spending Your Life?

What would you like to do if money were no object?

Today I came across this beautiful and inspirational video  narrated by English philosopher Alan Watts.. and cant help myself not to post it here as it is very uplifting and makes you think about our life, our desires, our goals…

I want to share with you.. Specially if you are an artist – take time and watch.

Life of an  artist is unpredictable, sometimes I have money, sometimes I don’t. But this never forced me to do something else as I believe in myself, and I knew from childhood that I want to paint and being an artist is my way of life.

So, all artists out there, if you are struggling with some temporary problems or are in any kind of doubts about your future, – take your time and enjoy the video.

We all need a piece of inspiration from time to time.
